Rebecca Blady is a second-year student at Yeshivat Maharat, a certified yoga teacher and a freelance digital media specialist. Rebecca teaches and writes on topics related to Jewish mindfulness, theories of nationalism and spiritual health. She is actively involved with great Brooklyn-based organizations including ImmerseNYC and the Prospect Heights Shul.
Rebecca holds a BA cum laude from Brandeis University. Prior to pursuing her rabbinic studies, Rebecca lived in Israel as a JDC Jewish Service Corps fellow, where she taught and mentored at-risk youth, focusing on Ethiopian-Israeli populations in Ramla and Jerusalem. She also created and facilitated a program for young women in Kiev, Ukraine focusing on the Jewish values of physical and spiritual health. In the years following, Rebecca transitioned to working as an assistant producer at a documentary film production company in Brooklyn.
Raised on Long Island, New York, Rebecca inherited an Orthodox Jewish lifestyle whose core values she is committed to opening and enriching for all. A proud granddaughter of four lively and loving Holocaust survivors, Rebecca advocates for a united global Jewish narrative and every individual Jewish story.
